The small town of Estes Park, Colorado was nothing but an absolute dream. The quiet neighborhood, the smoke coming out of the chimney, the crisp air, the frozen road, the snow, the elks frolicking just minding their own business…there’s something about this that just screams dreamy for a California girl who absolutely love LOVE the cold weather. ME. Call me crazy, but I absolutely enjoy the snow. But of course, I can’t lie, growing up in California driving thru the snow to get to this town really scared me. A little of this snow storm of what they consider as a”barbecue weather” is considered as a national disaster where I live. I felt such a foreigner. But the thing I adore about small towns like these, is how genuine the locals are. They can talk to you for hours and hours about their town. And I love that because I always learn something new.
It was snowing through out the day but it didn’t stop us from strolling around the small town, petting horses, talking to the locals and taking photos. After, however, the freezing temperature has finally got into us and decided we buy ourselves a bathing suit and warm up in our Inn’s Jacuzzi. We ended our night having a dinner at a fancy restaurant next to our Inn and I had the best buffalo steak. It was tender, juicy and packed with all the flavors you could ever imagine.
The next day…..ohhh the next day…
The sun finally showed up. Sun shining, no snow falls, no clouds in sight just a clear sky and sunshine…I came out and there it was…the whole town just glitters. As the sun shine hits the snows that covered the whole town it was just pure glitters. Everywhere. I was in awe. There is nothing that I can remember anymore from the previous day. Not the snow falls, not the scary drive, not the freezing weather. But just the glittering quiet town of Estes Park, Colorado that is.
